About Sun Shower Australian Shepherds & Rough Collies
When I first got petz and started to get into showing them, my original plan was to specialize in German Shepherds, Australian Shepherds, and Pharaoh Hounds. At the time, those were my top three favourite breeds of dogs, and I was completely obsessed with Australian Shepherds. Despite that, I never really got into the Aussie ring. My lack of hex painting skills I think turned me off, so I never really showed much. It wasn't until Jess of Abnormality released her new Aussie file that my interest in the breed was rekindled. I hexed and adopted one dog, Sun Shower By My Side "Acadia" who did well in the ring and was two points away from finishing when she was tragically lost to an external hard drive malfunction. After I lost her, I sort of lost interest in the breed and didn't feel like trying to hex another one. But then, in December 2012, Jenn of Bohème started posting about her Australian Shepherd line and my interested in the breed was rekindled. I was given an Aussie from Nova for Christmas and just fell in love with him. Aussies took over the PKC by storm, and finally I couldn't resist any longer and jumped right into the breed.
I added rough collies because they've always been a breed I'm interested in. They are absolutely gorgeous and I had been wanting to show them in the PKC for a while. Since the Aussie ring is so intense, I figured adding a breed that I might actually have a chance to place in would be nice and keep me from getting too discouraged. Plus I love the file and it goes really well with my Aussies.
